Jackie Leigh Butler

Jackie Butler has over 20 years of criminal defense experience as an attorney in Indiana and Ohio.  She specializes in criminal law, family law, chins and second parent adoptions. Jackie’s aggressive defense strategies have helped her win acquittals in felony murder, child molestation, and domestic violence cases.  Her determined attitude has helped her win child custody cases and her commitment to family fuels her desire to protect the children and the parents who love them.

A native of Indianapolis, Jackie earned her law degree (J.D.) from the University of D ayton in 1987. She has served as a public defender in Montgomery County, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana.  Jackie also worked as a probation officer, counselor, private practitioner and acting judge.

After moving home to Indianapolis in 1996, Jackie has focused her private practice on criminal defense and family law.  Jackie has defended teens and adults, winning acquittals in high profile cases.  She has earned the respect of State and Federal judges, prosecutors and colleagues in Indiana and Ohio through her straight forward style.

Jackie’s vast knowledge of the law is her client’s best weapon. Her quick wit and humor help clients, judges and others feel at ease, allowing this tough, smart attorney to gain trust.  Jackie is unafraid to push the envelope in order to achieve the best outcome for her clients. Ms. Butler’s devotion to criminal defense comes from her father, Duge Butler, a well-respected criminal defense lawyer in Indianapolis for 50 years, who passed on the passion of defending the constitution to his daughter.  That passion is fueled by the belief that everyone is entitled to zealous representation.
